Production Blog: coming together

Image
Hello, Welcome back. In today’s blog what is left is picking and inserting the music for the opening sequence. I left the music for last because I thought it would be better to get all the video editing and inserting done with first. Now for picking out a song i didn’t want to have to email and wait for someone to reply to me so i decided to do something else. For this process it was easier to just look up no copyright music for thriller on YouTube. There was a whole playlist to choose from. After listening to all of the different choices. I liked one of them that felt very fitting to this project. The music is called trailer tense thriller by infraction. To prepare for inserting the music to the opening sequence. I screen recorded the video and extracted it to the opening sequence. After the screen recording saved I went back to CapCut and went to the bottom tool bar and clicked on "audio'. I next clicked on extracted and picked the screen recording of the song. As the sound

Production Blog: final insertions

Hello. Welcome back. Today, picking up from where i left off. I was inserting the movie title, the movie title is “Don’t Look Back”. I decided that the title would look good in the scene of the two girls being seen walking down the street from behind that I took. This placement would bring the whole thing together. I gave it the same font style and font, I dragged the title to the middle of the frame and made it a little bigger. The next thing was who the music we chose was by. I gave it the name font and style and inserted it on the top left corner. In the next scene “edited by:” would be seen on the bottom left corner. Same style and font. Next would be the producers which would be everyone that was working on this project. I added a filter to make it look a bit cinematic and gave it a cold tone. The producers would be seen on the top left corner when the 3rd girl is introduced in the opening sequence. Next what had to be inserted was the person who came up with the story line and i

Hello. Welcome back. Continuing from last time I inserted the next actors name. I decided to have Sophia’s name an animation to cut out of the scene with the “swipe left” animation. It’s pretty much the same as adding an animation to appear on the screen. If you swipe left the app will show you options for the animations for the text to leave the scene. For Camila’s I had to change it up a bit for the animation but the font and style stays the same. I put the “blur wipe left” animation and it would go away once the scene ends. I took a break from inserting their names. I wanted to figure out a way to lower the sound of the busy street. I clicked on the clip I wanted to lower the sound and scrolled all the way to the left on the bottom tool bar and found something called “reduce noise”. I clicked on the switch and it automatically turned down the noise of the street. This made it so that the dialogue can be heard better. I did this to the rest of the scenes that was recorded by the busy

Production Blog: crop and cutting

Hello. Welcome back. Wrapping up the filming. I went to “CapCut” and added each video in order of how the storyboard was. The scenes that came out the best i added to my favorites on my camera roll, so it would be easier to know which ones to add. When I added all the clips together I realized that it went over the time limit that was given. Which was fine because I just had to crop the clips that we filmed as extras just in case we didn’t reach the time frame limit. I went to each clip and split the parts that I didn’t need from the ones I wanted and deleted the unwanted clips. I got the total of minutes to 2:00, which was perfect for the opening sequence.I decided to work on the labels and names first before adding the music. I thought it’d be easier on me to just work on it first and get it out of the way. I clicked on the text icon at the bottom tool layout and selected “add text” I typed in the name of our production and studio. From there I clicked the “font” button and selected

Production blog: Continuation

Hello. Welcome back. To continue from where I left off. The next thing we did was drive a couple blocks down from the park. The street we were filming by was a busy street but we managed to make it work. Along the way a couple things were changed to fit better in the opening sequence. The car was parked at a plaza and I began to record the two main characters turning the corner towards the park. I filmed a pan shot of them walking. I began recording the street and turning to where the actors would begin turning the corner. Once this scene was done, we walked further down towards the park and stopped to get the next scene. This scene was the part where the mysterious figure would show up. A couple changes had to be made for this scene because it wouldn’t make sense for the 3rd character to be in front of them. While the “noises” heard was coming from behind them. After that was done, I recorded and over the shoulder shot of the 3rd character’s point of view walking up to the two. Anoth

Production Blog: Lights! Camera! Action!

Hello. Welcome back. So we planned to start filming on the 19th but we had to reschedule and film after school today. We went to the main’s house and waiting while the sun went down to begin filming. When the sun went down we went outside and noticed the change of weather. It was freezing so we had to make changes to the costumes. As we began to film, I was the one to be recording everything on my phone. It’d be more convenient as I’m going to be doing all the editing. We began to film the scene where an establishing shot of the house is seen.  I stood by the street recording, but realized that the quality wasn’t that great because it was dark out. I compared which video came out better with and without flash. The video with flash came out better, so I decided to have the flash on while recording each scene. After I filmed the establishing shot we went back into the house to film the bedroom scene. The bedroom scene took a couple of tries as we had to adjust and discuss how exactly we

Productions blog: Rescheduling

Hello. Welcome back. To pick up from where we left off. The filming process for this project was supposed to begin today. However one of us was not able to make it to the filming location. Due to personal events. Rescheduling for the filming had to be discussed once again. We had planned to try to film over the weekend. But we all would be busy with different things during the weekend. Our schedules did not link up as we’d hope for. So we began to brainstorm other dates. We were discussing to try to film on Friday. It wouldn’t have been able to be done due to some of us being busy once again. We came to the resolution of filming on the 19th. This would be convenient for us to begin filming because since it’s president’s day we get a day off of school. We should be able to begin filming on this date. As for our day off as i could start getting a head start on a couple clips. Hopefully we can at least get a couple of clips filmed and have it run smoothly. If anything comes to conclude u

Production blog: Deciding filming date

Image
Hello, welcome back. This blog will be about deciding when the filming is going to be able to start the filming process. The whole process that has to be done before picking a date is preparing every little detail that is going to be needed for this film. To start off the costumes were being decided. It is best to say that the costumes will be casual and a bit different as the costumes won’t be a big deal to the film. Although the costumes may not play much of a big part of the film, the clothing needs to be fitting to the weather of when the filming date is. Lately it’s been a bit cold. So the actors wearing shorts wouldn’t be good as the weather can cause them to catch a cold.  So the actors wearing shorts wouldn't be good as the weather can cause them to catch a cold. If the weather the changes to the 70s the actresses will be changed into shorts and warm weather clothing. The next thing which is very important to discuss is the props that are going to be shown in the film. A c
