Movie Research: Fractured
What conventions of the genre that you chose to
base your final task on does this movie have?
-
Similar convetions found in the genre of
thriller are as follows. Lighting, common amongst most thrillers, there is a
lot of dim dark lighting throughout the movie. Both inside and outside. As well
as the angles. This movie has a lot of zooms in shots, over the shoulder, and
dutch shots.
What conventions of the genre did the movie have
that you liked?
- Throughout the movie i really enjoyed the dark
lighting. It added to the overall unsettling feeling the movie created. The
constant Dutch and tilt shots. Almost give the effect of an illusion. Which
once you finish watching the movie really understand. I also really enjoyed how
the jump cuts mix with the diegetic sounds give you the sense of unsettling and
uncertainty of what happens next.
What conventions of the genre did the movie have
that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final
task?
-
Honestly there was very little I did not enjoy
about this movie. If I did have to pick something. I did not like how there
were little settings throughout the movie. As well as the lack of background to
the story. The lack of detail in the scenes.
